Creating Your Own Meditation Space

Have you got a place in your home that you can go to meditate or even just take a few moments without any distractions? I have created this meditation space in my bedroom that I can go to. It is so nice to just light a candle, some incense & listen to some guided meditations or relaxation music and just simply be in the present moment. I went to a philosophy and meditation school were each morning we meditated at assembly and then paused before and after each class. One of the schools motos was “Delight in the Present“. I found it so beneficial and still do! You don’t need a mantra or to go to learn it in a class, if you simply sit still and just focus on your breathing even for 5 minutes to begin with you will reap the benefits. At first it feels like you have a million thoughts running through your mind but just focus on  breathing through just your nose and the thoughts will eventually pass (believe me). It may also be a good idea if your a first timer to download a free guided meditation app from your app store or some nature sounds (relax melodies app on the IPhone). I also pick up fresh flowers for myself too which is a nice touch so go treat yourself. You deserve it 😉

Dunnes Stores is great for the most AMAZING Budda material (The beautiful picture cost just  5e  and the Budda candle holder was only 3e so they won’t great the bank). Buy some nice candles and incense as it is good to use all 5 senses during meditation. I’m not a great sleeper so if I’m finding it difficult to get to sleep I will listen to a guided meditation and I find it really helps me to relax and sleep better.

Feel free to share your own personal meditation space with me 🙂

P.S you must “not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment” (Budda)
